Publishing peer-reviewed articles in this journal incurs an article processing charge (APC). VAT (25%) will be added to customers within Norway and the European Union, except non-Norwegian organizations that provide their VAT-number. 

Publication fees:

NOK 12,000.- excl. VAT for articles up to 6000 words.

NOK 14,000.- excl. VAT for articles between 6000 and 8000 words.

Word limits are considered strictly. Manuscripts exceeding 8000 words will be rejected without evaluation.

The total sum will be charged to the author(s) after publication of his/her (their) article.

The journal does not have a submission fee.

Book reviews up to 1500 words are free of charge.

Waivers

Authors without an affiliation to a research institution or university are eligible to apply for a complete or partial fee waiver.

We also offer a complete or partial fee waiver on a case-by-case basis for individual authors or author groups affiliated with a university or institute in low-income or lower-middle-income economies as defined by the World Bank. Please check the list here. If the author group includes researchers from universities or institutes in high-income economies, the publication fee will likely not be waived.

Please mail your request for a fee waiver to forskning@cappelendamm.no before submitting your manuscript. Requests for waivers for manuscripts that are already under peer review or have been typeset will not be granted. The corresponding author must include the following information in a letter of request, together with any supporting documents:

• Manuscript title
• Article category
• Names and titles of all authors
• Institutional affiliations of all authors
• Type of waiver requested: partial (indicate the amount you can pay in NOK) or full
• Reason for waiver application
• Please explain how the research has been funded

Editors and reviewers have no access to author payment information. Inability to pay will not influence their editorial decision.

NB! Please be advised that a decision from the publisher with regard to a fee waiver is independent of, and has no bearing on, the journal editor’s evaluation of the article for publication.

Withdrawal of manuscript

If you withdraw your manuscript after it has been typeset (but not yet published) you will be charged for the typesetting costs at a rate of NOK 500.- per page.
